Witch Head Nebula is a faint reflection nebula composed of interstellar dust that reflects the light of blue supergiant star Rigel. Bluish color of the nebula is partially due to the scattering effect (dust particles reflect blue wavelengths better) and partially due to the color of the Rigel's light. The nebula is 900 ly away from us and has 50 ly across. |
