Comment:

With the age of 1.6 billion years NGC 7789 is one of the oldest open clusters known. Brighter and more massive stars in the cluster have already exhausted the hydrogen fuel in their cores and evolved into red giants. The cluster contains more than a thousand stars in diameter of 30 ly. The cluster is some 7.6 kly distant from us.

NGC 7789 was discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1783. That's why it's known by name Caroline's Rose.
