Tulip Nebula is a large volume of ionized, glowing gas in the constellation of Cygnus. The gas is ionized by ultraviolet light of young and energetic star HDE 227018. That is the bright bluish star near the center of the image. Diameter of the nebula is approximately 9 ly and its distance some 8000 ly.
